Area elementaries to join in Broken Bow festival

McALESTER — Singers from Will Rogers, Emerson and Edmond Doyle elementary schools in McAlester, and Wilburton’s middle and Grace Russell Elementary School will participate in the 21st annual Circle the State with Song children’s choral festival Friday in Broken Bow.

There are 19 regions in Oklahoma that participate in Circle the State with Song during the first three months of each year.

Friday’s event, set to begin at 4 p.m. at the First Assembly of God Church, features a choir comprised of 136 students in grades 4-8 from area schools. The choir will sing eight choral selections with guest conductor Mary Beth Singleton of Edmond and pianist Nancy Bryant of Garvin.

Admission is free for children 12 and younger.
