The Pittsburg County commissioners awarded a bid for a fire station for the Tannehill Volunteer Fire Department in the amount of $50,900. The awarded bid went to Scotts Construction, a company with the lowest bid meeting all the required specifications, commissioners said.
Also on the agenda Monday, commissioners unanimously approved the agenda, the Feb. 25, 2013, meeting minutes, blanket purchase orders and weekly fuel bids.
Pittsburg County Animal Shelter director Sandra Hefley reported to the commissioners regarding activities at the shelter. Hefley said the number of both animal deposits and adoptions have stayed about the same.
In other action, commissioners approved a bid from Cintas for Mat Maintenance and Uniform Services.
Daniel Hance was scheduled to speak with the commissioners to discuss the installation of a gate across Waterfront Road. The item was stricken from the agenda because Hance was unable to attend the meeting.
Commissioners then discussed the eight-year bridge plan and approved resolutions for funding for the Hartshorne-Adamson Road project in District No. 1 and for the Blanco Road project in District No. 2.
In other action, commissioners canceled a $20 purchase order issued to Sam’s Point Volunteer Fire Department for tire repair services. They also canceled a $628 purchase order to the Pittsburg County Sheriff’s Office for inmate transportation from Colorado since the transportation is no longer needed.
Commissioners also approved two contracts with PCSO. Both contracts were approved pending review and signature from the District 18 District Attorney Farley Ward.
The first contract is for a video visitation system with Securus and the second contract is with Sooner X-Ray.
The Pittsburg County Commissioners meet every Monday at 9 a.m. in the commissioners conference room at the Pittsburg County Courthouse. The meetings are open to the public.
