Red Oak’s Santa Shoppe Main Street is set for Dec. 7 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., organizers say.
“It’s an event that’s a big deal for Red Oak,” said organizer Jodie White.
“We have the kind of vendors you don’t see every day, ‘Mom and Pop’ vendors,” White said.
She said because of the last year’s success, the Red Oak Committee for Continued Growth, local Red Oak Businesses and Red Oak City Council decided to do have the event again.
“Last year when we first decided to try this, it just exceeded our expectations, “White said.
During the Santa Shoppe, vendors will be selling items such as quilts, home-baked goods and handmade items from their booths set up on Main Street.
White said Red Oak is an old-fashioned town that reflects “Small Town America.”
“We have a wide main street,” White said.
“People still park right in the middle of the street so there is lots of room for shoppers and vendors.”
She said there is no charge for vendor space but the deadline to secure a spot is Dec. 2.
And if the weather gets bad, White said the local businesses on Main Street will open their doors for the vendors to sell their goodies inside.
During the event, door prize drawings be held throughout the day with prizes donated by the vendors.
Before the shopping starts, White said the Red Oak Class of 1965 will have a Biscuits/Gravy Breakfast beginning at 7 a.m. benefiting the Red Oak Scholarship Fund.
For lunch visitors can chose from Frito-chili pies sold by the Red Oak Library, pulled pork sandwiches, caramel apples and hot dogs, sold by local individuals and school groups.
And, to cap off the festivities, Santa is set to arrive during the day for a pictures, White said.
