An Oklahoma City man and woman were charged Monday for allegedly dropping of drugs and cell phones at Jackie Brannon Correctional Center and conspiring to bring drugs and cell phones into the prison.
On Monday Aaron Lusty, 19, and Misty Dawn Johnson, 20, both of Oklahoma City were charged in Pittsburg County Court with 10 felonies and two misdemeanors for allegedly dropping off drugs and cell phones at JBCC and conspiring to drop off drugs and cell phones at OSP.
The two were arrested just after 2 a.m. Saturday morning after a sheriff’s deputies pulling into the parking lot at Pittsburg County jail saw a man run onto West Street while being chase by a JBCC guard.
While assisting the JBCC guard, the deputies reported seeing a white car allegedly driven by Johnson, drive past them and speed off.
Deputies chased the vehicle and arrested Johnson.
During a search of the vehicle officers found a package wrapped in plastic and black tape containing Xanax, Crystal meth, marijuana and cell phones, the affidavit states. Johnson allegedly told the officers they were going drop the package at OSP.
Lusty allegedly admitted making a drop at JBCC of 15 one-ounce pouches of marijuana, eight-grams of crystal meth, five cell phones, four cell phone chargers and two pounds of tobacco, according to the affidavit.
If convicted of the charges against them, Johnson and Lusty faces up to life in prison and up to $66,500 in fines.
Both were released on their own recognizance on recommendation of the District 18 Attorney’s office, court records state.
Neither Johnson or Lusty could be reached for comment by press-time today.
