McALESTER — A downtown McAlester Cruise Night and car show is set for Sept. 21, organizers say.

The events are hosted by the First Baptist Church of McAlester, McAlester Main Street and Big Mac Cruzers.

From 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. the First Baptist Church will host a big car show at 100 E. Washington, according to Mike Pruitt, organizer of the event.

“Bring the whole family,” Pruitt said.

A large collection of beautiful and unique show vehicles will be on display and the church has arranged live music to be performed on stage during the show by local band Southern Breeze, he said.

“There will be inflatables for the kids, food vendors and great music all day.”

Then from 6 to 9 p.m. McAlester Main Street and Big Mac Cruzers will host McAlester’s Cruise Night down Choctaw Avenue, according to Ginny Webb executive director of McAlester Main Street.

“This year’s cruise will be a closed loop beginning at the OKLA Theater making a loop on First Street continuing down Choctaw Avenue to Fifth Street and looping back through the alley,” Webb said.

Registration will begin in front of the theater at 5:30 p.m.

Cruisers should enter Choctaw Avenue from Main Street.

It costs $10 to cruise all evening and each participant will receive 10 raffle tickets to be added to the 50/50 pot.

She said half of the pot will go to the winner and the other half will go to  McAlester Main Street,

Raffle tickets will be sold until the drawing at 9:15 p.m.
