The stars of the McAlester Chamber of Commerce walked down the red carpet during the annual Chamber Gala held Thursday night at the Southeast Expo Center.
It was a “Red Carpet Event” and in keeping with that theme, guests were photographed on the red carpet as they entered the gala.
Jimmy Williams served as Master of Ceremonies and presented awards to the Chamber members and volunteers.
This year the chamber awarded Volunteer of the Year to Amy Johns publisher of the McAlester News-Capital.
The Chamber awarded Large Business of the Year First National Bank of McAlester; Small Business of the Year, Briggs Printing; Business Man of the Year, Steve Brock of Miller Glass; and Business Woman of the Year, Marsha Gore, superintendent of McAlester Public Schools.
“Marsha proves you don’t need eight hours of sleep each night to get the job done,” Williams said.
Young Professional of the Year went to David Moscato of Joint Venture Partners and Business Partner of the Year was awarded to Connie Davis Insurance.
David LerBlance and Lee Anne McKelvey were honored as outgoing board members.
Also during the gala 30, 25 and 10 year members were acknowledged. Chamber member for thirty years was McAlester Army Ammunition Plant. Warren Clinic, McAlester News-Capital and Briggs Printing were acknowledged for 25 years of membership. And ten-year members The Old Town Assocation and Connie Davis Insurance were also acknowledged during the event.
During a lighter moment of nights events, Chairman Steven Davis took the stage and presented Past Chairman David Keith with a cardboard cut-out of himself in a pink tutu.
