McALESTER — Investigators are looking into the death of a woman whose body was found slumped over a desk in a Crowder restaurant Sunday, officials say.

The woman was identified as Nadine Cruce, 49, of Arrowhead Estates, according to Pittsburg County Sheriff Joel Kerns.

Monday, Kerns said her death is under investigation and the cause of her death will be determined by the state’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

“There were no physical signs of trauma,” he said.

Cruce was found dead at the Diamond Steakhouse in Crowder at about 5 p.m. Sunday evening, according to Kerns.

He said she had been dropped off at the restaurant by a friend. Then, 15 to 20 minutes later, the friend returned and found Cruce slumped over a desk and unresponsive, the sheriff said.
