A Kiowa woman remains in critical condition Tuesday after she was ejected 35-feet from a rolling truck during an accident Saturday in Okmulgee County, officials say.
Amy Battle, 24, of Kiowa, was flown by medical helicopter to St. Johns Medical Center on Saturday afternoon after a two vehicle accident on southbound U.S. Highway 75, just south of 231 St. in Okmulgee County, according to a report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Battle was a passenger in a 1994 Mazda truck driven by Fabian Rojas, 20, of Kiowa.
The report states Rojas’ vehicle was traveling at a slow rate of speed in the right lane when it was rear-ended by Jonathan Hicks, 22, of Beggs, driving a 1993 Toyota Camry, the report states.
After it was struck from the rear, Rojas’ truck rolled three times and Battle was ejected 35 feet, according to the report.
Battle was not wearing a seatbelt. She suffered head injuries and remains in critical condition at St. Johns Medical Center in Tulsa, hospital officials said Tuesday.
Rojas or Hicks, both wearing seatbelts, were not injured in the accident, the report states.
