McALESTER — It was failed equipment that caused a power outage at 1:57 p.m. today leaving 1,251 customers without power until 2:15 p.m., Public Service Company spokesman Frank Phillips said, shortly after the power was restored.
He said after switching out the equipment with new, power was restored and he said the outage was in no way related to the outdoor severe weather sirens sounding.
Kevin Enloe, Director of the McAlester/Pittsbug County Office of Emergency Managment, said the sirens were only a test.
