McALESTER — A Eufaula man recently pleaded guilty to a federal drug conspiracy felony.

Clinton McKenzie Bevenue, 42, pleaded guilty to the charge June 10 in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, in Muskogee.

According to a press release form the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Bevenue possessed and distributed 500 or more grams of methamphetamine on Dec. 19.

“The charges are a result from an investigation by the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics, the McIntosh County Sheriff’s Office, District 25 District Attorney’s Drug Task Force, Eufaula Police Department, the Mesquite Police Department in Texas and the U.S. Marshal Service,” the press release states. Bevenue was indicted in March and will remain in the custody of the U.S. Marshal Service pending sentencing.

Bevenue is facing a federal prison sentence of not less than 10 years and up to $10 million in fines.
