2 men arrested and charged in Krebs lab bust

McALESTER — Two Krebs men were jailed Wednesday — and charged Thursday — after firearms, drugs and drug paraphernalia were allegedly found in their home, authorities said.

The District 18 District Attorney’s Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force, McAlester and Krebs police departments, Pittsburg County Sheriff’s Office and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol Tactical Team served a search warrant at 30 SE Third St. in Krebs, according to Agent Tim Turner of the task force.

Agents located Jeffrey Freeman, 44, of Krebs, in a detached garage, he said.

“During the search of the garage,” Turner said, “agents located items used to manufacture methamphetamine.”

He said agents arrested Jeffrey Freeman, and his son Garret Freeman, 18, of Krebs.

Turner said the District 18 District DTF agents requested assistance from the OHP Tactical Team to execute the search warrant and to help to secure the home.

“Once the residence was secure, District 18 District DTF agents conducted a search of the residence,” Turner said.

He said during the search of the residence, agents found several firearms, such as a pistol, rifle and shotgun.

“Agents also located suspected marijuana, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia from inside the residence,” he said.

Jeffrey Freeman remained in jail Wednesday at the Pittsburg County Criminal Justice Center on charges of manufacturing methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of public park, possession of CDS — methamphetamine with intent to distribute within a 1,000 feet of a public park, possession of firearm after former felony conviction and possession of firearm during commission of a felony. Jeffrey Freeman was released from the Oklahoma Department of Corrections earlier this year and is on probation until July 23, 2029, according to Turner.

And, Turner said, Garret Freeman remained in jail Wednesday afternoon at the county jail on conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine, possession of marijuana within 1000 feet of public park, possession of methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of public park, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of firearm during commission of a felony.

On Thursday both men were charged in Pittburg County District Court.

Jeffrey Freeman was charged with manufacturing a controlled dangerous substance, conspiracy to manufacture CDS, two counts of possession of controlled substance within 1000 feet of a school, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, possession of a firearm after former felony conviction and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Garret Freeman was charged with conspiracy to manufacture CDS, possession of a controlled substance within 100 feet of a school, posession of a firearm during commission of a felony and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both men are being held at the Pittsburg County jail. Jeffrey Freeman is being held in leu of a $250,000 bond and Garret Freeman is being held in leu of a $50,000 bond.

District 18 District DTF anticipate other arrests stemming from this investigation.
