Former asst. DA charged with perjury

McALESTER — Former District 18 Assistant District Attorney Mike Miller has been charged with perjury in Oklahoma County District Court, according to documents obtained by the McAlester News-Capital.

Records show that perjury charges were filed Tuesday in Oklahoma County District Court in Oklahoma City.

Records also show that the state of Oklahoma had been represented by Oklahoma Assistant Attorney General Charles Rogers, who is the lead attorney for the Oklahoma Multicounty Grand Jury.

Rogers was set to be in Pittsburg County District Court in McAlester today for a hearing related to the unsealing of a Pittsburg County indictment. More information on that matter was expected later today.

Court  records show that during the Tuesday court action in Oklahoma City, bond had been set at $2,000 for Miller  on the Oklahoma County perjury charges and had been subsequently been posted on his behalf.

A formal arraignment on the Oklahoma County perjury charges filed against Miller is set for 9 a.m. Monday before Judge Kenneth Watson, according to Oklahoma County court records.

Marcum has pleaded innocent to the charges filed against her.

She currently faces a preliminary hearing on the charges, with the hearing dates scheduled for  Nov. 29, Nov. 30 and Dec. 1.
