Primetimers meet for June meeting

Don and Sue Parham presented a musical program for the Primetimers of First Baptist Church during their regular monthly meeting June 4.

Sue Parham played a medley of hymns on the piano at the beginning of the program.

Don Parham sang “Tell the Good News” and then led the group in singing several familiar hymns.

He sang “Blessed Redeemer “ to close the program.

They were introduced by the Donna Prock program leader.

After Emerson Virden led in prayer a meal was served to 38 members.

President Dub Brown thanked the cooks and the decorating committee, Carol Newberry and Shirley Spinks.

The tables were decorated with sports balls and ties to commemorate Father’s Day.

Zoe Henley gave the travel report.

She said the next trip will be to John’s Restaurant near Hartshorne on June 7.

She also said another trip is trip planned to Tahlequah on June 28 to see a play called “Guitars and Cadillacs.”

A trip to Branson is set for on Nov. 7 to Nov. 9, she said it’s not to late to make reservations with the church or with Elaine Brown travel chairman.

In Branson she said the plans include seeing the Oak Ridge Boys Christmas show, the Texas Tenors and the Brett Family.

She said shopping at the Tangier Outlet Mall and the Amish store are also planned.

Brown closed the meeting with prayer.
