Bowling, Relay for Life fundraiser slated

McALESTER — Relay for Life team Kiddin’ Around Academy has joined up with the Great Balls of Fire bowling center and scheduled a bowling league fundraiser.

“This is a new exciting fundraiser we are doing with Great Balls of Fire,” said Kiddin’ Around Team Captain Valerie Lalli. “We are super excited about it.”

The “no-tap” bowling league begins May 8 (a Tuesday) at 6:30 p.m. and runs every Tuesday following for an additional five weeks.

The cost to join the league is $15 per person per week and $5 of that weekly fee is donated to Relay for Life. Also, a 50/50 drawing is scheduled each week and an end of season party, with awards, is also set.

What is no-tap? “If you bowl a 9 pin No-Tap all you need is 9 pins on the first ball to count as a strike,” Lalli stated in a press release.

“We have already raised over $21,000 this year,” Lalli said. “But our goal is $25,000. So we hope this helps us get closer to out goal.”

To join the league, or for more information, call 918-426-7744.
