Road Conditions Update 2-6-14 – 5:30 a.m.

Crews in the panhandle continue to plow and treat areas that are snow packed. Drivers are encouraged to use caution and allow extra time traveling through the area.

Crews in the western, central and OKC metro areas are seeing some snow accumulation and have been out plowing interstates and highways since the early morning hours. Crews will continue to do so until roads are clear. Roads in the OKC metro are considered slick in spots and drivers should use caution and allow plenty of time for the morning commute.

Additional advisories will be sent from this office as conditions change.

During snow and/or ice conditions, motorists need to:

• Check road conditions before getting out on the roads.

• Be aware of "black ice," which looks wet on the roadway, but is actually a thin layer of ice.
