LIVESTOCK REPORT

STILLWATER — On Tuesday, 1,300 head of cattle were sold at the McAlester Union Stockyards. Steers sold $3 to $10 higher than on the last sale date. Heifers sold $4 to $11 higher.

On Aug. 6 there will be a 300 head cow dispersal, with 10 to 15 pairs, 70 to 80 bred cows and the remaining cows ready to breed. Cows are two years of age and older.

The next replacement cow sale is set for Sept. 28. Consignments are open.

There were 200 cows and bulls sold at the evening sale Tuesday at the McAlester Union Stockyards.

Packer cows sold $2 higher than at the last sale, and packer bulls sold steady.

High-yielding packer bulls sold from $104 to $107. Average-yielding packer bulls sold from $100 to $103. Low-yielding packer bulls sold from $95 to $99.

High-yielding packer cows sold from $82 to $90. Average-yielding packer cows sold from $78 to $84. Low-yielding packer cows sold from $75 to $80.

A sale is held every Tuesday, with sales of stocker and feeder cattle beginning at 10 a.m. and sales of cows and bulls beginning at 6 p.m.
