Officials are investigating the death of a 19-year-old McAlester man who died at a social gathering Saturday night.
William Hatridge, 19, was found unresponsive Saturday night at a social gathering with friends, according to Jessica Brown, spokesperson for the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
“It’s a suspicious death,” Brown said. “Any time someone dies that young, we call it suspicious.”
Pittsburg County Joel Kerns said officials were called to the scene Saturday night at McNally Flats near Blocker when Hatridge was found unresponsive.
Kerns said his part of the investigation is complete.
“I’ve turned everything over to the OSBI,” Kerns said on Monday.
Meanwhile, Brown said the OSBI is waiting on the autopsy report from the Chief Medical Examiner’s office before making a determination about the death.
“Right now there is no official cause of death,” Brown said.
