Water lines break in McAlester

McALESTER — There were a couple water line breaks in McAlester Tuesday afternoon which left about 150 residents without water.

According to city officials, a 12-inch water line broke at around noon on West Street and another line broke near the Southeast Expo Center.

The potentially affected area is from Carl Albert Parkway to Comanche Avenue, and from West Street to D Street, officials said. The problem will take about three to four hours to fix.

City of McAlester Water Maintenance Foreman Tim Murray said his men are working on fixing the problem. “I’ve got two major water line breaks,” Murray said. “We’ve got to replace 12-inch pipe.”
