All three commissioners said local roads were open and mostly clear.
Thursday evening the National Weather forecasts occasional freezing rain and sleet, becoming all sleet after midnight with a low around 21 degrees.
Some ice was forecast and a sleet accumulation of 1 to 3 inches was possible, according to the forecast.
District 2 Commissioner Kevin Smith said his area wasn’t badly affected by the weather as of Thursday afternoon
“The roads aren’t bad right now,” Smith said.
“We will be salting the bridges as a precaution; I have all my guys are on duty.”
District 1 Commissioner Gene Rogers said his roads have been clear, so far.
“We don’t know what it’s going to do tonight,” Rogers said. “We’ve salted the bridges and we plan to salt them again.”
In District 3, Commissioner Trent Myers said the roads were clear as of 2:15 Thursday afternoon.
“We are salting our bridges and we haven’t had any road closures so far.”
