McALESTER — A young girl has been hospitalized after being mauled by two dogs on Saturday night just 50 feet from her home near Eufaula according to the Pittsburg County Sheriffs Office.

Seven-year-old Hailey Ritter, of Eufaula, was allegedly attacked by the dogs — one a pit bull and the other a basset hound mix — as she walked to her aunts house with her brother according to a police report.

"All I heard was screaming," said Tonisha Ritter, the girl's mother.

Hailey Ritter suffered injuries to her inner thigh and lower backside and she was hospitalized. She was released from the hospital after receiving 11 stitches, her mother said.
