McALESTER — Saturday, the Twin Cities Revitalization Project is participating in the Oklahoma Department Of Transportation Trash Off.

“We will meet at Hartshorne City Hall at 9 a.m.,” Regina Peoples president of Twin Cities Revitalization Project. “We are providing trash bags, water and gloves, there will also be a limited number of safety vests and trash grabbers if anyone wants one.”

Peoples said the Twin Cities Revitalization Project is a nonprofit volunteer organization started in January of this year by a group of concerned citizen in the Haileyville/Hartshorne Area.

The organization aims to promote a “cleaner, greener Twin Cities area” through community involvement and volunteerism, she said.

Peoples said the group will be collecting litter from along U.S. Highway 270 and Old Savage Highway, also known as Lake Road.
