Son allegedly burglarizes parents’ home

A Krebs man has been charged with burglary in the second degree, a felony, after allegedly breaking into the home of his parents.

Thomas Bynum, 28, has a felony warrant out for his arrest.

Sheriff’s Deputy John Young wrote in an affidavit in January that he was dispatched to Harvey Bynum’s residence on a home welfare check. When he arrived, he allegedly found the front door shattered and Thomas Bynum and another person outside.

According to the affidavit, Thomas Bynum told Young that his father had asked him to check on the house while he was away, but when Young called Harvey Bynum he was told that Thomas had no business at the residence.

Allegedly, several items were missing from the house including prescriptions. A full list was not presented in the affidavit or court documents obtained by the News-Capital.

Young stated in the affidavit that he allegedly found a fingerprint on an ammunition case that Harvey Bynum said his son had no business with. According to Young, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation told him that the fingerprint matched Thomas Bynum’s.

Thomas Bynum was charged with the felony on Tuesday.

If convicted, he could serve from two to seven years in prison.
