Motorcycle collision sends three to hospitals

McALESTER — A collision between two motorcycles in northern Pittsburg County sent both drivers and a passenger to hospitals.

The driver of one of the motorcycles, Jeremey Cremeens, 36, of McAlester was transported to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, where he was listed in stable condition with head injuries, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.

Clinton G. Stapp, 40, of Indianola, the driver of the other motorcycle involved in the wreck, was listed in critical condition with head injuries and internal and external trunk injuries at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, according to the highway patrol.

A passenger on Stapp’s motorcycle, Toni Martin, 35, of McAlester, was transported to the McAlester Regional Health Center, where she was listed in good condition with head, arm and leg injuries, the highway patrol.

A passenger on Cremeens’ motorcycle, Crystal Walden, 34, of McAlester, was not injured, the OHP said.

The collision occurred around 11 p.m. Thursday as both motorcycles were eastbound on State Highway 9 in Longtown, said the highway patrol said.

Cremeens’ 1980 Harley Davidson motorcycle stalled and was struck on the side by the 2004 Harley driven by Stapp, according to the highway patrol.

Drivers and passengers on both motorcycles were ejected, the highway patrol said. Helmets were not in use, according to highway patrol.

OHP Trooper Dennis Splawn of the Troop D McAlester detachment of the highway patrol investigated the accident.
