Still time to register for Second Annual Wild Color Stampede

McALESTER — Organizers say there is still time to register for the Second Annual Wild Color Stampede set for Oct. 5 as part of the Wild West Festival.

Some 240 registered runners participated in last year’s 5K color run where runners are doused with colored powder at different locations along the race course, according to McAlester Main Street Director Ginny Webb.

Webb said proceeds from the run will benefit McAlester Main Street and the Old Town Association.

She said registration is $45 per runner and forms are available at Dottie’s Children’s Boutique, 113 E. Choctaw Ave., and the Whistle-Stop Bistro, 2700 N. Main St.

Webb also said runners can sign up for an additional $3 sign-up fee at

The run will begin at 10 a.m. on the south side of the Whistle-Stop Bistro on East Krebs Ave. The course also will end at this location.
