McALESTER — It’s on again.

The city of McAlester is still planning to show “Finding Nemo” on its outdoor movie screen at Chadick Park on Saturday night, said McAlester Community Services Director Mel Priddy.

However, those who are interested in attending were advised to keep their eyes on the skies, because the National Weather Service in Tulsa has predicted a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms for Saturday night in the McAlester area.

The movie is currently set to begin, after darkness falls, on the east side of Chadick Park, near the Pittsburg County War Memorial. Once again, city personnel plan to show the movie free of charge on the city’s new, inflatable outdoor screen.

Those attending the movie are advised to bring lawn chairs, blankets, or other things on which to sit. They’re also free to bring their own food and drinks, with the exception of alcohol, which is not allowed in city parks.

At first, city personnel had looked at canceling the Saturday night  showing of “Finding Nemo,” but then reconsidered.

“Finding Nemo” tells the story of a clown fish named Marlin, searching the oceans for his lost son, Nemo, with the help of a regal blue tang fish named Dory.

The computer animated film from Pixar Animation Studios and Disney Pictures won the 2003 Academy Award for Best Animated Feature of the year.
