McALESTER — On Tuesday, 1,500 head of cattle were sold at the McAlester Union Stockyards. Steers sold $1 to $4 higher than at the last sale and heifers sold $3 to $6 higher.

Consignments are open for the next replacement cow and bull sale set for April 12.

There were 225 cows and bulls sold at the evening sale Tuesday at McAlester Union Stockyards.

Packer cows sold $4 higher than at the last sale, and packer bulls sold $5 lower.

High-yielding packer bulls sold from $126 to $133. Average-yielding packer bulls sold from $120 to $131. Low-yielding packer bulls sold from $110 to $114.

High-yielding packer cows sold from $105 to $114. Average-yielding packer cows sold from $101 to $109. Low-yielding packer cows sold from $95 to $105.

A sale is held at the stockyards every Tuesday, with sales of stocker and feeder cattle beginning at 10 a.m. and sales of cows and bulls beginning at 6 p.m.
