Community Center in Krebs to hold fundraiser dance

McALESTER — A dance to help raise money to continue the improvements at the Gene Heathcock Community Center in Krebs will be held tonight from 7 until 10 p.m. with music by Leon Burke and the Real Country Band.

Last year the center closed for several months after a heavy snow caused the roof of the 2,400 square foot center to cave in.

The center serves the senior community in Krebs and is now open again but there is still some work to be done according to Jack Cordell manager of the center.

“We are trying to rebuild the courtyard,” Cordell said.  He said the dance will help to raise money for a water fountain, benches and some landscaping.

A donation of $5 will get you into the dance and help us to improve the courtyard, he said.

The Gene Heathcock Community Center is at 85 Main Street accross from the Krebs post office. For more information contact Cordell at 918-424-0222.
