McALESTER — The Pittsburg County Sheriff’s Office teamed up with the United States Marshals on Thursday for a warrant round-up.

“We have 11 to 12 people with warrants,” said Pittsburg County Undersheriff Richard Bedford. “We’ve caught three people and found one in drug rehab.”

Bedford told the News-Capital on Thursday afternoon that members of the Sheriff’s office Special Response Team had been out since 6 a.m. Thursday executing warrants. “SRT has been out with James Holloway, who is assigned to the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, all day,” Bedford said.

Bedford said the sheriff’s office plans to continue warrant round-up efforts in the days, and weeks, to come.
