McALESTER — Santa is coming to Kiowa early this year with a little help from the Kiowa Police Department.
The Kiowa Police department is planning its second Annual Community Christmas Party for Dec.10 and Santa will be on hand to pass out gifts, according to Tony Runyon chief of police for the town of Kiowa.
Runyon said Santa will have gifts for all the children.
He said door prizes, games and activities are planned for the event as well
He said donations are needed for gifts and services to make the day special for the children.
“We want to give every child a gift this year.”
He said last year was a success because of the donations. The police were not only able to give gifts to the children who came to the event but also to other children who couldn’t attend.
“We delivered gifts to the children at the Youth Emergency Shelter, McAlester Care Center (for abused women and children) and Hope House (shelter for homeless women and children).”
The event will be held in the multi-purpose room at the Kiowa School from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Donated gifts should be unwrapped.
Kiowa School is located at 1096 SE 8th Street.
