The Pittsburg County Commissioners voted to hire Kevin Enloe as the county’s new emergency management director on Monday.
The action happened during Monday’s regular commissioners meeting at the Pittsburg County Courthouse.
During the meeting the commissioners met in a closed-door executive session held to discuss the hiring the director.
After the executive session the commissioners returned to the regular meeting and voted unanimously to hire applicant Kevin Enloe.
“We had a really good set of applicants, said District 2 Commissioner Kevin Smith.
“We weighed it all out and made our decision on who we thought had the best qualifications for the job.”
Enloe will begin his new position after the first of the year, Smith said.
Enloe will fill the position left open when former Pittsburg County Emergency Management Director Trent Myers was elected as District 3 Commissioner in November.
Myers was elected during a special election held to replace Ronnie Young who died earlier this year.
Also attending Monday’s meeting were Myers and District 1 Commissioner Gene Rogers.
The Pittsburg County commissioners meet Mondays at 9 a.m. in the commissioner’s conference room at the Pittsburg County Courthouse.
The meetings are open to the public.
