Bargains abound with Angel Food

McAlester Church of the Nazarene, 700 W. Adams St., 423-7999 is taking orders for December Angel Food this week. The orders will be taken on Thursday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 until 7 p.m., and Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Also, Bowers Baptist Church, 1250 Chronister Rd., Wilburton, (918) 465-3896 is taking orders on Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., and Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. until noon.
Orders at these sites can be picked up on Dec. 13 from 9 until 11 a.m. This is the only time to pick up orders.
Lakewood Christian Church, 840 S. George Nigh Expy., is also a host site. For more information call 423-2736.
Payment in full is required when the units are ordered with cash, money order, cashiers check, or food stamps — no personal checks are accepted. Orders may also be made by credit or debit card online at www.angelfoodministries.com until 11 p.m. Dec. 7.
The following is the menu for the month of December Angel Food Program:
• December regular box $30 –1.5 pound beef roast, 2 pounds breaded chicken tenders, 2 pounds chicken breasts, 1.5 pounds pork chops, 1 pound lean beef patties, 1 pound all meat hot dogs, 28 ounce salisbury steak entree, 1 pound carrots, dessert item, 1 pound rice, 24 ounces steak-cut fries, 14 ounces chicken broth, 7.5 ounces mac and cheese, 1 pound green beans, 32 ounces 2 percent reduced fat shelf stable milk, 7 ounces corn muffin mix, and one dozen eggs.
• December senior menu $28 – All 10 individual meals are fully cooked and labeled with complete heating instructions. Each meal has no added sodium, is low in fat, and is nutritionally balanced for seniors. Barbecue pulled pork with black eyed peas, collard greens and cinnamon apple sauce; ground beef stroganoff in cream sauce served over parsley egg noodles, green beans with onions and fruit cocktail; chicken parmesan, white chicken in Italian style tomato sauce with mozzarella cheese atop spaghetti, seasoned green beans and garlic bread; meat patties with country gravy and onions, mashed potatoes, steamed broccoli with cheese and diced beets; meat loaf with brown herb gravy, sweet potatoes, green peas with mushrooms and green beans; sliced roast turkey served with dressing and sage gravy, red potatoes in cream sauce, green beans and jellied cranberry sauce; chicken and mushroom bake serve over white rice, seasoned turnip greens and stewed tomatoes; chicken and broccoli, mashed potatoes, Creole style okra and a chocolate chip cookie; burger stew with vegetables served over seasoned white rice, broccoli with mushroom pieces and sliced peaches; red beans and ground beef served over white rice, southern flavored collard greens and a southern style biscuit.
• Christmas/holiday box $35 – 7 pound Perdue roasting hen, 2 pounds natural hickory smoked ham, 17 ounces cornbread dressing, 15 ounces cranberry sauce, 2 pounds heat and serve corn, 2 pounds heat and serve mashed potatoes, 2 pounds heat and serve green beans, 4.5 ounces brown gravy mix, eight dinner rolls, and a dessert item.
With the purchase of at least one of the three units listed above, participants may also purchase any of the specials listed.
• Special 1 – 6.5 pounds assorted meat grill box, $22 (1.5 pounds prime rib steaks, 2 pound boneless pork roast, 2 pounds hamburger beef steaks and 1 pound bratwurst with cheese).
• Special 2 – 4.5 meat combo box, $21 (1.5 pounds New York strip steaks, 1.5 pounds bacon-wrapped beef filet and 1.5 pounds bacon-wrapped chicken filet).
• Special 3 – 10 pounds boneless chicken breasts, $21
• Special 4 – Fresh fruit and vegetable box $21 (3 pounds North Carolina Red Rome apples, 3 pounds North Carolina sweet potatoes, 2 pounds medium yellow onions, one stalk California celery, 1 pound California carrots, 4 pounds Florida navel oranges, 2 pounds California lemons, two each, Florida Ruby Red grapefruits; 8 ounces California raisins, and 4 pounds Idaho potatoes).
• Special 5 – Holiday mixed fruit gift box $26 (four each, Washington State fancy Red Delicious apples, Washington State fancy Golden Delicious apples, Washington State fancy Granny Smith apples; five Washington state large apples; four each, Anjou pears, large red Rome apples, large Florida navel oranges, large Florida tangerines, large Florida tangelos; six large Florida juice oranges, and five large Florida Ruby Red grapefruits).
• Special 6 – Holiday meat and cheese gift box ($20 two 9 ounce beef summer sausages, one 9 ounce summer sausage, one 8 ounce yellow sharp cheddar cheese, one 8 ounce yellow mild cheddar cheese, and one 8 ounce Monterey Jack cheese.)
