Quinton school honors Young-Barron as Teacher of Month
The Quinton Junior High/High School September Teacher of the Month is Ladona Young-Barron.
Young-Barron graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant in 1990 with a Business Education Degree and has taught at Antlers, Eufaula and Canadian. She has taught in Quinton for 10 years.
“I thank God for the opportunity to share what I know with young people because I have always wanted to teach, I want to make a difference in their lives if I can,” Young-Barron said. “The teaching staff here is wonderful and we all want to see our students achieve everything they can and to help them step into society knowing with confidence that they can be whatever they want to be.”
Young-Barron currently teaches Accounting, Keyboarding, Computers I/II, and Yearbook.
“My husband, Rev. Roland Young and I shared 31 years of marriage together before his death in 1998, and we had three children, a daughter, Tamara, and two sons, Darin and Brian. They all graduated from college and I am very proud of them. I have three special grandchildren, Jerod, Taryn, and Lexi,” she added. “Then God gave me another wonderful husband, one year ago, Rev. Jack Barron, to share the rest of my life with. I now have three more children and six more grandchildren, so with all my children at school and in my family, I am truly blessed.”
