— Bowers Baptist Church and Lakewood Christian Church will be taking orders for July Angel Food this week.
The order dates are today from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.
Payment in full is required when the units are ordered with cash, money order, cashiers check, or food stamps — no checks are accepted. Orders can be placed during the listed times at Bowers Baptist Church, 1250 Chronister Road, west of Wilburton, 465-3896. A $5 deposit will be applied to first-time orders for a plastic tub for each regular box ordered. Return clean tub when the next order is placed or a $5 deposit will be applied.
Lakewood Christian Church is taking orders Thursday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and from 5 until 7 p.m., and on Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pick up your order July 26 from 9-11 a.m. at 700 West Adams in McAlester.
Orders may also be made by credit or debit card online at www.angelfoodministries.com until midnight Sunday. On the Angel Food Web site click on “How to Order” and follow the prompts.
The regular food box must be checked first before specials are available to click. Angel Food charges a $1 transaction fee to cover the bank charge for use of credit cards. If you are a first time buyer, you will pay your tub deposit when the food is picked up on July 26. For returning customers who wish to order online, bring your clean tub when you pick up food.
The July menu includes the following: One 40-oz. Marie Callender’s® Family Crock Pot Dinner (Meat Included); One 1.5-lb. Boneless Pork Filet; One 5-lb. Breaded Chicken Chunks; One 1.5-lb. Meaty Beef Ribs; One 28-oz. Meatloaf and Gravy; One 1-lb. Beef Fajitas; One 1-lb. Fully Cooked Meatballs; One 1-lb. All Meat Hot Dogs; One 1-lb. Broccoli; One 1-lb. Peas and Carrots; One 28-oz. Pasta Sauce; One 1 lb Pasta; One 32-oz. Borden 2% Reduced Fat Shelf-Stable Milk; One 32-oz. Hawaiian Punch; One 12-ct. Corn Tortillas; One 7-oz. Blueberry Muffin Mix; One Dozen Eggs; and One Dessert Item.
Participants receive all the food previously listed as one unit for $30. Angel Food is not a program based on need or income. There are no applications and no qualifications.
There is no limit on the quantity of units purchased. Angel Food Ministries reserves the right to substitute any of the above items due to availability, cost, or quality issues.
With the purchase of at least one of the $30 units, participants may also purchase any of the specials listed below. Included is a fruit and vegetable special offered for the first time this month.
Special #1: 7-lb. Assorted Meat Grill Box for $20 includes 1.5 lb. New York Strip Steaks (2-12 oz.); 2.5-lb. Boneless Netted Boston Butt Roast; 2-lb. Meaty Beef Ribs; 1-lb. Mild Italian Sausage.
Special #2: 4.5-lb. Steak and Chicken Combo Box for $20 includes 1.5-lb. Kansas City Strips (2-12 oz.); 1.5-lb. Bone-In Ribeyes (2-12 oz.); 1.5-lb. Bacon-Wrapped Chicken Filet (4-6 oz.)
Special #3: 10-lb. Breaded Chicken Breast Tenders for $18 includes 10-lb. Breaded Chicken.
Special #4: Fresh Fruit and Veggie Box for $16 includes six ears Corn; 2-lb. Carrots; 2-lb. Yellow Onions; 1 Cello-Wrapped Lettuce; 1 Pineapple; 4 California Oranges; 1 Seedless Watermelon; 6 Russet Potatoes.
