Crowder readies for a new year

— Crowder Public Schools first day of the 2009-2010 school year is August 10. Buses will run and breakfast and lunch will be served.
All enrollments will be held in the school library. Early childhood and kindergarten students may enroll anytime after July 20. Students will need a birth certificate, social security number, immunization record and CDIB card, if available. Those who pre-enrolled in the spring do not need to re-enroll.
Students in first through eighth grades may also enroll anytime after July 20 or may wait until the first day of school in the school office. For information contact the elementary office at 918-334-3205.
Crowder Public Schools seniors may enroll July 20 from 8- 11 a.m.; juniors may enroll on July 20 from 12- 3 p.m. Sophomores may enroll July 21 from 8-11 a.m. and freshman may enroll on July 21 from 12- 3 p.m. High school students who miss their enrollment times may come in on July 30 or August 3- 7 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. to enroll. After school day care will be offered from Monday through Friday 3 to 6 p.m. for early childhood through first grade students. This service is offered for working parents only.
School breakfast prices will be 75 cents or 30 cents for reduced meal prices. Lunch prices are set at $1.25 or 40 cents for reduced meal prices.
Physicals for girls in seventh through 12th grade wanting to participate in athletics are scheduled for July 21 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in Dr. Shane Mills’ office at 300 W. Carl Albert Parkway. Physicals for boys are scheduled for July 23 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in Mills’ office. For those needing transportation, a bus will leave from the school gym at 6 p.m. Physical forms will be provided or are available at www.ossaa.com. Click on forms and scroll down and click physical, then print the two forms. Fill out the physical examination and parental consent form with parent’s signature. This must be completed before you are given a physical by the doctor. Any student may get a physical from their family doctor provided they have the proper physical forms. Participation in athletics will not be allowed until the student has passed the physical and the paperwork has been turned in.
A Crowder Public Schools open house is scheduled for Aug. 18 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
