Loman ordained; will serve as pastor for Missouri church

By Marketta Johnson
Staff Writer

Clifton Ronald Loman, of Haileyville, was ordained as a pastor in the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod in a special worship service on June 28, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Krebs. Presiding minister, the Rev. Glenn Meyer, performed the Rite of Ordination, while Rev. Russell Nubhut, of Midland, Texas preached the sermon.

The Trinity Lutheran congregation hosted a reception for the new pastor, family, and guests after the service.

The newly ordained Pastor Loman will be installed on July 12 at Grace Lutheran Church in Aurora, Mo., where he will serve as pastor.

Loman and his wife, Lora, will be living in Aurora, where they just purchased their first home. “It is an awesome responsibility that I’ve been given, caring for the Lord’s flock of people at Grace Lutheran. I just pray that all the preparation I’ve had will serve me in this noble task,” Loman said.

“Clif will be blessed in his ministry by his loving, supporting wife Lora as they serve God’s people,” Meyer said.

Loman graduated from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Mo. on May 22, receiving his Master of Divinity degree. The four year program included a one-year vicarage, a pastoral internship, at Hamilton, Texas during his third year of study.

Loman is the son of George and Connie Loman, of Haileyville. A graduate of Haileyville High School, Loman earned an associate’s degree in psychology from Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton, and a bachelor’s degree in human resources counseling from East Central University in Ada.
