Woman killed in crash

From staff reports

A Tuskahoma woman died Tuesday morning from a head-on collision four miles east of Hartshorne on state Highway 1, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Kelsey Lucas, 19, was driving a 2004 Mazda westbound when she crossed left of center, OHP said, and struck a 2008 Toyota driven by Margaret A. Yocco, 67 of Eufaula.

Yocco was transported to McAlester Regional Health Center with a leg injury and is listed in fair condition, the report said.

A passenger in Yocco’s vehicle, 76-year-old Mary Risenhoover of Eufaula, was also transported to MRHC and is listed in fair condition with leg and internal injuries, according to OHP.

The accident was investigated by Trooper Ron Shatsar of the Latimer/LeFlore County Detachment of Troop D. He was assisted by Trooper Garrett Gray of the Pittsburg County Detachment of Troop D and Lt. Sean Pierce of the Indian Nation Turnpike Troop XC.
