Younger receives outstanding student teacher award in Ada

Kevin Younger received the Outstanding Student Teacher of the Year award from East Central University in Ada. Younger completed his student teaching with Okemah Public Schools in a third grade classroom. Kevin’s parents are Joe Younger, of McAlester, and Diana Campbell, of Tulsa. His grandparents are Eugene and Martha Tharp, of McAlester.

He is a 1994 graduate of McAlester High School. He went on to graduate from Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton and ECU in Ada.

Younger and his family live in Henryetta. His wife, Danielle, teaches fourth grade for Okemah Public Schools.

Younger and his wife have a 3-year old daughter. His family plans to move to Alaska this summer. There he and his wife will be teaching in the small village of Anaktuvuk for the 2009 – 2010 school year.
