Pittsburg Junior High picks top eighth grade students

Pittsburg has chosen the valedictorians and salutatorian from its eighth grade class.
The graduation ceremony was 18 at Pittsburg High School.
Cheyanne Leigh Anderson has been selected as the co-valedictorian of the 2009 Pittsburg School’s eighth grade class. She is the daughter of Gary and Keri Anderson and granddaughter of the late Charles Wood and Dianna “Bo” Wood.
Anderson is active in softball and basketball. She is also an active member of the First Baptist Church in Pittsburg.
Caitlin Rae Embry, the daughter of Mike and Jan Embry, has been selected as the co-valedictorian of the eighth grade class of Pittsburg School. Her grandparents are Benny and Lavona Wyvick, Olivia Jones, and Robert and Judy Embry.
Embry attends Victory Life Church in Atoka. She is involved in Revolution Youth and has previously served as an intern for the Z9-N Kids ministries. Her hobbies include singing, drama, basketball and riding horses.
Tayler Dale McCoy has been selected as the co-valedictorian of the 2009 eighth grade class of Pittsburg School. He is the son of Wendy Kay Singleton, of Blanco, and James Dale McCoy, of Stuart. He is the grandson of Brenda Baumert Pogue, of Coalgate; Dirk and Tena Sweetin, of Ti Valley; James McCoy, of Calvin, and Kern McCoy, of Stuart. McCoy is the great-grandson of Della Conover, of Stuart, and Faye and Duerd Sweetin, of Blanco.
He is the great-great grandson of Gladys M. Hammer, of Blanco.
McCoy enjoys playing basketball and spending time with friends and family.
Jessica Lynn Russell, the daughter of Kenny and Shelia Russell, has been selected as the salutatorian of the eighth grade class of Pittsburg School.
She is the granddaughter of Alta Faye Russell and Ronald Davison.
Russell’s hobbies include horseback riding and drama. She enjoys singing and spending time with her family and friends.
