Eastern concert Thursday

Eastern Oklahoma State College Music Department will present the annual Spring Concert, with one performance to be held 7 p.m. Thursday in Mitchell Hall Auditorium on the Wilburton campus. Featured will be Eastern’s Band, Concert Choir and Sound Sensations as they present an hour-long program.

The choral program will include “Amen,” “Ordinary Miracle” from Disney, “He Aint Heavy, He’s My Brother,” “A-Rovin,” “The Battle of Jericho,” “The Majesty and Glory of Your Name” and “Moses.” The Sound Sensations will perform “It Had Better Be Tonight” and the “Rockin’ America Medley.” Eastern’s Band will present “A Night at the Movies,” playing several movie themes from the past forty years.

“We take this opportunity to extend a special invitation to the citizens from surrounding communities to come and join us,” Music Director Paul Enis said. “As always, admission is free.”

Student participants are: Emily Hassler of Calvin; Billy Morgan, Camden, Ark; Eric Gibson, Kingston; Elisha Sellers, Louisiana; Robert Miller, Muskogee; Rachel Herron, Pittsburg; Becky Needham, Quinton; Naomi Long, Savanna; Thomas Ladd and Boomer Lowrie, Smithville; Megan OConnor, Stigler; Jacquelyn Payner and Corey Traylor, Talihina; Kenny Landis, Whitesboro, Texas; Cassandra Beale, Callie Bush, T.J. Bray, Allison Culberson, Andrew Enis, Emily Enis, Adam Hendricks, Jeremiah Kelly, Josh Kelly, Jon Ramirez, Casey Reinhardt, Mike Roets and Whitney Waldrop, Wilburton.

The Choir and Sound Sensations are co-directed by Paul Enis and Mary Ford, with Ms. Ford accompanying and Mr. Enis conducting.

“On behalf of the Eastern Music Department,” Enis said. “I wish to extend this special invitation to everyone in our area to join us in this evening of entertainment by our student musicians. Come and support our students as they present what they’ve worked so diligently to produce.”
