Angel Food menu ready

The McAlester Church of the Nazarene, 700 W. Adams St., at 423-7999 is taking orders for the January Angel Food program on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 until 7 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Also, Bowers Baptist Church, 1250 Chronister Rd., Wilburton, at 918-465-3896 is taking orders on Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. until noon.
Food will be distributed at the ordering site on Jan. 17 between the hours of 9 and 11 a.m. This is the only time to pick up orders.
Lakewood Christian Church, 840 S. George Nigh Expy., is also a host site. For more information call 423-2736.
Payment in full is required when the units are ordered with cash, money order, cashiers check, or food stamps — no personal checks are accepted. Orders may also be made by credit or debit card online at www.angelfoodministries.com. Online order deadline is Jan. 11 until 11:59 p.m. Angel Food charges a $1 transaction fee to cover the bank charge for use of credit cards. If you are a first time buyer, you will pay your tub deposit when the food is picked up on Jan. 17.
For returning customers who wish to order online, bring your clean tub when you pick up food.
The following is the menu for the month of January:
• Regular box $30 – 1.5 pound ribeye steak, 4 pounds leg quarters, 1.5 pounds beef patties, 18 ounces cheese filled manicotti, 2 pounds pork rib strips, 1 pound chicken breast fajita strips, 1 pound ground turkey, 1 pound broccoli, 1 pound peas, 6 count oatmeal variety box, (2 each regular, maple brown sugar and apple cinnamon); 32 ounces 2 percent shelf stable milk, 8 ounce blueberry muffin mix, 12 count white corn tortillas, 1 pound pinto beans, 7 ounces chicken flavored rice and vermicelli, one dozen eggs and a dessert item.
• Senior/convenience box $28 – Ten seasoned, nutritionally balanced, fully cooked meals – just heat and serve. Each meal has been developed with the dietary needs for senior citizens in mind, and contains 3 ounces of protein, a starch and two vegetables or fruit. New Orleans style chicken over savory rice with okra and tomatoes and diced sweet potatoes; grilled chicken strips and penne pasta with creamy tomato basil sauce, Capri blend vegetables and green beans with onions and red peppers; beef and bowtie pasta with herbed tomato sauce, Capri blend vegetables and corn; flame broiled Salisbury steak with brown gravy, sour cream and chive potatoes and mixed vegetables; cheesy chicken and broccoli casserole with rice, green beans and squash medley; classic chicken tetrazzini with diced carrots and green peas; country fried steak with cream gravy, red skin whipped potatoes and mixed vegetables; spaghetti with meatballs, green beans and cinnamon applesauce; chicken parmesan with whipped potatoes and Capri blend vegetables; flame broiled beef patty with onion gravy, sour cream and chive potatoes and Capri blend vegetables. Also, 10 desserts included with the senior/convenience meals.
One or more specials are available with the purchase of one or more of the boxes.
January Specials
• Special 1 – 6 pound assorted combo box $22: 1.5 pound bone-in New York strips, 1 pound sirloin strips, 1.5 pound boneless pork chops, thick cut; and 2 pounds hamburger steak.
• Special 2 – 4.5 pounds bacon-wrapped meat combo $21: 1.5 pounds bacon-wrapped beef filet, 1.5 pounds bacon-wrapped pork filet and 1.5 pounds bacon-wrapped chicken filet.
• Special 3 – 3.75 pound T-bone steak $21.
• Special 4 – 10 pound chicken combo box $20: 4.5 pounds whole Perdue chicken, 2 pounds wings, 2 pounds, chicken nuggets and 2 pounds breaded chicken tenders.
• Special 5 – fresh fruit and veggie box $21 – 4 pounds new crop Idaho baking potatoes, 3 pounds new crop North Carolina sweet potatoes, 2 pounds western grown medium yellow onions, 4 pounds navel oranges, 1/2 pound new crop Georgia grown pecan halves, two each Florida red grapefruit, one head new crop Florida green cabbage, 1 pound western grown carrots, four each Florida tangerines, and four each Washington State bosc pears.
Angel Food is not a program based on need or income.
There are no applications and no qualifications. There is no limit on the quantity of units purchased. Angel Food Ministries reserves the right to substitute any of the above items due to availability, cost, or quality issues.
