With deep dismay I have recently read the above called article (Okla. death row inmate Gary Welch has been executed) in the McAlester News-Capital.
This is really not a glorious chapter for the state of Oklahoma. It is a big tragedy and fills me with rage and sadness.
Shame on this.
Modern, civilized and democratic countries don’t kill human beings. Definetely.
It is high time to abolish executions in Oklahoma and elsewhere in the world.
No doubt about it.
The death principle is cruel and unusual punishment, only following the old fashioned, cold bloody and unfair cowboy justice principle:
An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth (if you shed someone else’s blood you own blod will be shed), practiced in the dark Middle Ages period and in the obscure and nefarious wild west era (John Wayne, Gary Cooper or Buffalo Bill are greeting us !) many centuries ago.
I oppose the death penalty, because it harms victims’ families by giving a false promise that an execution will heal our pain.
Executions only create more violence, pain and shattered lives.
I oppose the death penalty because I believe in Mercy and Grace. I prefer the golden and fair principle: DON’T RETURN THE LIKE.
I oppose the death penalty because it is fiscally irresponsible for a nation to maintain the death penalty system.
In addition, the death penalty is just plain wrong.
The state of Oklahoma needs to abolish the death penalty, as other civilized nations (like for example Canada, Australia, Great Britain, France or Germany) had already done it long time ago. Governor Mary Fallin should copy the Goverrnor of Oregon John Kitzhaber, who had recently decided that nobody will be executed anymore during his term of office.
I oppose the death penalty for everyone! This family doesn’t deserve to be made new victims by the death sentence.
In the ten commandments of God which you can find in the bible, you can read : YOU SHALL NOT KILL.
This is valid for everyone (for the state of Oklahoma inclusive).
Let us create together a peaceful world without state executions.
The world will become a much better place, absolutely.
GOD BLESS OKLAHOMA.
