McALESTER — Editor:

It is very sad that you must write about executions in Oklahoma. The death penalty is cruel, unhuman, unconstitutional and very unusual punishment. It is time to abolish any kind of execution worldwide as soon as possible.

It’s absolutely barbaric and senseless to kill people. This is valid for individuals as well as for states.

No doubt about.

The an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth principle is a very sad and condemnable kind of vengeance and makes you blind for realizing fair justice regarding a crime someone did before.

Shame on Oklahoma for executing human beings.

The long stay on death row is punishment enough for a misdeed, definitely. Efficient punishment should include atonement but also public pardon for giving someone a second chance in his life to become a better individual.

I hope very much that with the new very charming and intelligent governor, Ms. Mary Fallin, a fresh wind and new ideas will come to Oklahoma for making it’s more modern and civilized, in banning the capital punishment out of it’s constitution asap.

I am with this fine lady and all the citizens of Oklahoma for making the future much better and safer for Oklahoma.

So may be in some months you have not to write anymore about executions in Oklahoma.

I wish you a happy, successful, peaceful and execution-free New Year 2011.

God bless you and God bless Oklahoma.

Yours sincerely,
