I have been as quiet as I can be for as long as I can. Our country is in a mess.
When the financial fiasco began, our congressmen and senators in Washington fought like cats and dogs without regard to what the people who elected them wanted. They talked about reducing Medicare and cutting back on Social Security.
Have the people who are holding the purse strings in Washington ever wondered how they were going to feed their families if they didn’t get their monthly stipend? What about their medicine? Do they have to choose what they can afford, their medicine or their food for their families or themselves? I don’t think they give us a second thought. I called my federal senators and congressmen when all the bickering was going on and did not hear back from one of them.
Have we driven our ducks to a dry pond? Not only are our elected officials not taking care of the people who elected them, but they are doing a grave injustice to this United States of America.
I am a widow and I don’t know about our Washington representatives, but we depend on our stipend each month to pay our bills and feed our families.
