Shine on, or not

Here’s my opposite opinion to your “editor’s notebook” of July 21 (Shine a light on me, by Matt Lane).
I personally like four way stops because they are quicker and safer than traffic lights, and a heck of a lot cheaper also. On lights, you may be delayed half of the time, also cars can be whizzing by in one direction or the other, at the speed limit (35 or 40 mph) but at four ways, everyone is slowing to a stop.
I travel across town quite often (from northeast to southwest and back), so I pick the route with less lights. My favorite intersections are the ones at Strong and Wyandotte and A & Washington. I travel Strong Boulevard quite often also and am pleased they haven’t installed the lights at the Monroe intersection as yet, (and hope they never do either). And yes, I like the blinking lights at the Washington intersection also.
Matt, there are several other ways you can go to miss the terrible intersection you hate so much and what I will do is dedicate all the lights you have to wait on to shine on you, so you can feel shined on.
You sound just like a politician who thinks the only way to solve a problem is to throw money at it.
