Read’s good work

Editor:

Councilman Travis Read worked so unselfishly and very hard for Ward 3. He asked questions and never rubber stamped anything.

When the Senior Citizen’s Center on West Kiowa Avenue was scheduled to be shut down, he worked to keep it open and the Meals on Wheels coming. When Komar Park was going to be closed, he and the Komar family were able to keep it open and it is now a beautiful park for the residents of Ward 3 to be proud of.

He never screened his phone calls, picking and choosing which ones he wanted to answer. He answered every phone call and many times made personal visits to people in his ward who called upon him.

I didn’t know Read before he became a councilman and I am now very lucky to count him and his wife, Teresa, as very dear friends.

Thank you, Travis, for your faithful sevice to this city and for running a clean, honest campaign.

You will be missed.
