Not so super

Editor:

From the left coast, I will follow with keen interest the happenings from McAlester, thanks to my receiving your paper.

I read with dismay that the governor of Oklahoma did not follow the choice of the voters in the Democratic primaries. He cast his lot (as a superdelegate) with Sen. Barack Obama, a candidate who chose to campaign sparingly in Oklahoma.

But my dismay was most felt when I read that my friend, Kalyn Free, choose to go against the grain of the people of this great state. I remember vividly her campaign for Pittsburg County District Attorney. That campaign was very definitely geared toward the needs and the rights of the people and not what was politically vogue.

The occurrence of these two superdelegates deciding to forego the will of the voters begs the question, “What is in it for each of them?”
