Zella Marie McCullar Wilson
Zella Marie McCullar Wilson, 76, of Hartshorne, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008, at McAlester Regional Health Center.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Hartshorne with Brother Lloyd Grubbs officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Hartshorne, under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of Hartshorne.
The family will greet friends Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in Hartshorne.
Pallbearers include her nephews, Earl Wilson, Donnie Wilson, Harvey Lee Wilson, James Russell, John Russell and Jimmy Wayne Adams. Honorary pallbearers will include her grandchildren.
Born March 26, 1932, in Hartshorne, she was the daughter of James Alfred and Pearl Mae (Vaughan) McCullar. From the age of three, she was raised by her grandparents, Ben and Laura Elizabeth McCullar. She married Allen Lee Wilson on Nov. 26, 1947, in Sherman, Texas. They lived most of their lives in Hartshorne.
She was a retired nurse, had worked at St. Mary’s Hospital in the O.B. Department in McAlester and later at Twin Cities Nursing Home in Hartshorne. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and enjoyed fishing, camping, boating, playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and visiting with family and friends.
Survivors include children and spouses, Alvin Lee Wilson, of Hartshorne, Carol J. Young, of Hartshorne, Jimmy and Soania Wilson, of Stuart, Ricky and Jean Wilson of Port Deposit, Maryland; eight grandchildren, Dustin Wilson, Daniel Wilson, Kristi Wilson, Ricky Allen Wilson, Kenneth Wilson, Jill Wilson, Felicia Wilson and Jennifer Wilson.
And, eight great-grandchildren, Payton Wilson, Adarra Wilson, Brianna Wilson, Dalton Wilson, Nicky Wilson, Triston Wilson, Allie Johnson and Brittney Monroe, and two sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Clorine Bussetti, of Hartshorne, Nan and Pete Hugle, of Hartshorne.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Allen Lee Wilson on July 13, 2008; her parents; one brother, Abbie McCullar, and one sister, Lola Mae Russell.
