Mary Elizabeth Anderson
Mary Elizabeth Anderson, 94, of Krebs, died Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009, in McAlester.
Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. today at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Krebs, led by Deacon Jim Scarpitti.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Krebs, celebrated by the Rev. Jim Caldwell and Deacon Bill Anderson. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Church Cemetery, McAlester. Arrangements are under the direction of Chaney-Harkins Funeral Home of McAlester.
Pallbearers include Jonathan Anderson, Randy Cooper, Milt Donaghey, Johnny Garrison, Donnie Ross and Jess Armor.
Honorary pallbearers include Donnie Pulchny, John Scarpitti, Mike J. Pulchny, St. Joseph’s Men’s Club and St. Joseph’s and St. John’s choir.
Born Jan. 1, 1915, to John and Concetta (DeFrange) Scarpitti, in Krebs, she married Chester Anderson on March 2, 1935. She was a Catholic attending St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Krebs. She enjoyed crocheting, crappie fishing and watching baseball.
Survivors include her sons, James Anderson and wife, Mary Etta, of Krebs and Bill Anderson and wife, Connie, of Krebs; daughters, Phyllis Willcutt and husband, Raymond, of Krebs and Marilyn Pistocco and husband, James, of McAlester.
And, brother, Angelo Scarpitti, of McAlester; sister-in-law, Mary Scarpitti, of Akron, Ohio; 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Concetta Scarpitti; her husband, William Chester Anderson; brothers, Orland Scarpitti, Sylvester Scarpitti, Herman Scarpitti; sister, Rose Massaro; brother-in-law, Bill Massaro, and sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Scarpitti and Louise Scarpitti.
