William 'Bill’ Marion Gardner

William “Bill” Marion Gardner, longtime Stuart resident, passed away October 23, 2009 at his residence at the age of 51.

Bill was born July 5, 1958 in Roswell, New Mexico to Jake and Kathryn Gardner. Bill grew up in Calvin and surrounding areas and graduated from Calvin High School in 1977.

Bill worked at Solo Cup Company in Ada for several years before becoming disabled. He was of the Baptist faith.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and one uncle, Charles Merriman.

He is survived by one brother, Floyd Gardner and his wife Michele of Holdenville; three sisters, Louise Tweedel and her husband James of Stuart, Linda Gardner of McAlester and Mary Welchel of Oklahoma City; one aunt, Berniece Sherrin of Stuart and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 10:30 AM at First Baptist Church in Calvin with Pastor Jarrod Kendall officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Greg Collard, Royce Montgomery, David Levingston, Adam Tweedel, David Welchel and Mike Hamilton. Honorary bearers will be Larry Rivers III, Jacob Gardner, Christopher O’dell, Jerry Hickerson, David Watkins and Ted Constock.

Burial will follow at Calvin Cemetery.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Amanda Rivers and Sharon Wakole.

Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home, Holdenville.
