Winifred Davis
Winifred Davis, 93, of McAlester, died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008, in McAlester.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Haywood with Pastor Michael McNutt officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service of McAlester.
Born June 9, 1915, in Spokane, Wash., she was the daughter of William and Pauline Williams Williamson. She began her education in Spokane and later graduated in San Diego, Calif. She married Roland Davis on Oct. 14, 1931, and moved to Haywood in 1979. After her husband preceded her in death in 1990, she continued to live in Haywood with her daughter and granddaughter. She remained a resident of Pittsburg County until her death.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Buck Davis and wife, Judy, Palm Desert, Calif.; daughters and sons-in-law, Mollie Lydeen and husband, Donald, of McAlester, and Melodie Campbell and husband, Odis, Wichita Falls, Texas.
Also, son-in-law, Eric Harrison, Burbank, Calif.; 17 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren, and numerous great-great-grandchildren.,
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Pauline Williamson; her husband, Roland Davis; a son, Robert Carson Davis; a daughter, Joy Pauline Harrison, and a great-great-granddaughter, Kathrine Pauline McNutt.
